 FFA
Free For All Link Pages

Free for all (FFA) link pages are web pages that contain links to
hundreds or even thousands of other sites. You can submit a site
to these pages by filling out a form and giving an email address.
Typically, your listing will only be live for a few days, and newer
submissions will replace your listing. So you must submit to these
pages routinely to stay listed.
The prevailing wisdom about FFA link pages is that they are not
worth your time. If you talk to 10 Internet marketers, my guess
is that 9 would tell you not to bother with them, to which I would agree.
There are two ways to be involved with FFA pages. One is to submit
to them, the other is to own an FFA page yourself.
Submitting to FFA Link Pages
There are now sites and programs that will allow you to
submit a link to thousands of FFA pages at once. But I doubt even
these programs are worth your time. Here are some things to consider
about FFA pages:
- You will get a very small amount of low-quality traffic. If
you're lucky, you might get a half dozen extra visitors a week
after submitting to thousands of sites.
- You will be asked to provide an email address in order to submit
to FFA pages. In return you will get tons of spam. If you submit
to 1000 FFA pages, expect 1000 emails confirming your submission
and advertising something as well. If you are going to submit
to FFA pages, get a free email address from Yahoo or Hotmail first.
Don't use your main email address.
- There are some people who argue that getting listed in FFA pages
will help your search engine rankings since a lot of sites (the
FFAs) will be linking to your site, thereby raising your site's
link popularity. I don't believe this is true. FFA pages are not well-regarded by
search engines and the links from FFA pages will probably be disregarded
altogether.
Running Your Own FFA Page
- It's not tough to set up your own FFA pages. Many sites will
let you set one up for free. When people submit their sites, you
will get their email address.
- You can send confirmation emails to people when their
link is added, and these emails can include advertisements, BUT...
- Don't expect people to read them. Most people who submit to
FFAs get thousands of spam messages. Your message will be buried,
ignored, or deleted automatically.
Conclusion:
I used to submit to FFA pages about 7 years ago and got some limited
traffic. But I don't do it anymore. All you will get these days
is a small amount of low-quality traffic and vast amounts of spam.
If you are serious about building traffic to your site by building
