Trudeau Review

Kevin Trudeau has been in numerous infomercials since the early
90s. More recently, he has gained fame by publishing a couple bestselling books that promoted alternative medicine. The most famous of these books is Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About, which to date has sold over 3 million copies. While reviews of this book are mixed, a lot of people believe the principles laid out by Kevin Trudeau in this book are sound.
Kevin Trudeau's reputation is somewhat tainted due to many problems with the FTC, which, among other things, charged him in 1997 for making deceptive
claims on his infomercials. More recently, in 2003, the FTC again charged Trudeau, this time
for making unsubstantiated claims in relation to the Coral Calcium
product he was promoting with Robert Barefoot. I did watch these
infomercials before they were taken off the air, and I must admit
that the claims did seem a bit over the top.
I personally don't think Kevin Trudeau is as bad as many people
make him out to be, and I actually like some of his products. The following
are Kevin Trudeau's products I have purchased over the last decade:
- Mega Memory:
This was the first Trudeau product I bought, and I liked it very
much. It was definitely pricey ($159 at the time), but now it
is offered at a much more reasonable price ($59). The techniques
do work if you apply them.
- Mega Speed
Reading: This was an okay product but didn't really work for
me so I sent it back, and got a prompt refund. If you are interested
in speed reading, Eye
Q is probably a better alternative, but unfortunately they
are very expensive (over $200).
- Coral Calcium
Supreme: It's true that the infomercial may have made unsubstantiated
claims, but I think that overall, this is a good calcium supplement.
I take it daily.
Kevin Trudeau's latest book is The Weight Loss Cure 'They' Don't Want You To Know About, which was published in 2007.
PROS:
- Kevin Trudeau brings interesting products to the public's attention.
I actually think some of them are quite good and have personally
benefited from them.
CONS:
- His ads in the past have been accused of being deceptive and
for making unsubstantiated claims. When watching Kevin Trudeau's infomercial,
you should take the claims with a grain of salt.
